Nothing More Stressful Than Building A Website
I have to tell you there’s nothing more stressful than having your own website built. It’s so much easier when you are sat in an office with your team and saying ‘yes I would like this, that and the other’ and then they all go off and do it. That’s the simple way for sure.
However, when it’s for yourself and you’re camera shy, not fond of your own image in pictures and remarkably introvert (honestly, with matters like this it’s true, I really am very shy), it’s not as straightforward as you might think.
Building your own website is like opening a window to your soul. Your likes, dislikes, your life, career and so much more. I tell you it can be quite daunting and eye-opening and I didn’t realise I’ve done or do so much. I’m certainly a lot busier than I thought I was that’s for sure.
Thankfully, I have used an amazing designer called Sue Ayers who has kept me in check right throughout this whole project and a fantastic photographer called Irven Lewis who made my striking good looks, look even more remarkable.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever spent time on a professional photo-shoot, if you have then you’ll know, if you haven’t, let me tell you it’s the most awkward and uncomfortable situation you could ever be placed in. Stretch here, stretch there, point this, point that, shake your ass, look up, look down, spin your head, stick your chin out, hold your tummy in and don’t grimace just smile all the while... What the hell is that all about?
Still I have to say thanks to Irven who put me through this torture, as he did a great job and none of it is photo-shopped (much). It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever seen photographs of myself that I’m actually really pleased with.
I’ll tell you something else too, now it’s done I think I might stick to the office scenario next time. All that said, the guys have created something really special here and I am truly grateful as they’ve made a decidedly uninteresting bloke look quite good.
